When?

Why?
The Philippines is the world’s leading supplier of qualified seafarers. IMO has declared 2010 “The Year of the Seafarer” and is holding a major Diplomatic Conference in Manila from 21-25 June to agree amendments to the IMO STCW Convention dealing with seafarers training and certification. Senior representatives from the ILO will also attend and they expect the Maritime Labour Convention to achieve the required number of ratifications during 2010. Never before has there been the opportunity to bring together, in such numbers and in one place, seafarers, their wives and families, the SENIOR officials who regulate the industry and the international maritime community..

Who Can Come?
Seafarers and their families are the principal guests. The regulators from IMO and ILO in Manila for the Diplomatic Conference, the providers of services to the industry and members of the local shipping community are all very welcome to join the Party.

What Will it Cost?
Provided you can show evidence of being a seafarer, a member of a seafarers family, a delegate to the IMO Conference or have a direct involvement in the maritime community there will be NO CHARGE for entrance to the Party or to participate in the various activities.
